Could you add an online leaderboard to the iPhone/iPod touch version of Q*bert? A lot of Appstore games already have this option, so why doesn’t Q*bert?
That would be really, really great.

When will you be able to post Q*bert to the US for the iPhone? I’ve seen the screen shots, and they look amazing! Please, do hurry! :-)
Thanks!!

I just got word that the Jungle update has gone live for international. The U.S. release date is expected to be this coming Tuesday. Hang in there, U.S. It’s coming!
Meanwhile, I’ve seen some great feedback in the user reviews. Thanks all! :)
Keep the comments coming. Good, bad, everything. We want to make this great and love to hear from you.
Hi, Q*bert fans!!
Here is my review of the game:
As a fan of retro games with cheap price tags, I was really excited to try this one out. One of the first things I noticed was the similarity to Namco’s fun but overpriced ”Remix” games. Not only do you get the classic 8 bit arcade game but there is a modern version with improved graphics that make Q*bert look a bit like an orange version of the creature from doodle jump. The controls on this game are amazingly easy to use even if you have no experience with touch controlled games. The only problem with this game is that it is
H-A-R-D. I constantly find myself dying on level 2 but if you are up for the challenge, go buy this game now!
I give it 5 out of 5.

We have a winner of the theme poll! The Jungle theme will be included in the next update of the game. “When?”, you ask. Soon! Best guess is about 3 weeks from now. We don’t have a firm date, but we have submitted and hope to see it live as soon as possible.
Thanks for all the votes! Here is the breakdown:
Jungle 26% (15 votes)
Pirate 24% (14 votes)
Space 24% (14 votes)
Ice 17% (10 votes)
Castle 9% (5 votes)
Now vote again for the next round! And submit some comments on what other themes you might like in the future. Who has the most creative theme idea? Let’s hear ‘em.

Oh, he’s back, baby! The Q*bert that we all know and love… or at least love to hate. This game is challenging! It’s hard to put down once you get going. Ah, the addictive joy of a simple to learn, hard to master game.
A bit more down to business now…
Q*bert fans, this is your blog. Really. It’s for you. And the new iPhone/iPod Touch Q*bert game, that’s for you too. So help us help you. Tell us what you think by commenting or posting as a guest. We have only just begun and plan to release many updates for improvements/enhancements. We want to make an awesome game and your input could put us over that edge.
Here’s what we have so far:
Arcade Mode: We really want to honor the original Q*bert game, so there’s an Arcade mode that is super authentic. The graphics are true to the retro style. The code is based on the original code so Q*bert and the other characters all move the same way they did in the real deal back in the 80s. Even the help text is from the original Q*bert (well, the first section of it is).
Modern Mode: We’ve added another mode called “Modern” that also stays true to the original Q*bert programming, but has updated graphics for a smoother, polished Q*bert.
New Maps in progress: Why should Q*bert always be on a pyramid? Soon he’ll get to jump on all kinds of different cube constructions. This update is already in the works. The domestic release will have new maps.
Themes in Progress: We are already working on new Q*bert themes too. I’ll just say it — Q*bert is an orange ball with legs and a funny nose and, well, he’d like to accessorize like the rest of us. So, he’ll soon be sporting a variety of outfits and jump on cubes in a variety of styles. Your votes will determine the order of the planned themes, so be sure to vote! We want your input on new themes for the future too. The domestic release will have the first of the new themes included.
What do you think so far?
The controls work very well and anyone who ever fed a stream of quarters to the original stand-up cabinet way back when should thoroughly enjoy the iPhone remake.

I feel like fidgeting. I want Q*bert for iPhone live! I want to know what everyone thinks. It’s so hard to wait.
The arcade mode is so retro I can practically smell the pizza joint we went to as kids where they had that table version of Q*bert. Good stuff.
There’s a modern mode too for those of you who prefer your jumpy little characters to be anti-aliased.

We are so close! This project has been a ton of fun and it is super exciting to go live with this blog and really get ready to celebrate Q*bert’s big debut on iPhone and iPod Touch. “When?”, you ask? Well, it’s looking like our live date will be within the next few weeks. We have submitted to Apple and are just waiting for their green light.
So, hello world! Welcome to the Q*bert blog! :)
